Autumn is very nearly upon us which means it’s time to pull out your favourite fall pieces again. I don’t know about you but I’m excited just thinking about the outfit potential to be had with cosy knits, chocolate shades and wool skirts. That being said, as much as I love dressing for fall, sometimes I’m faced with decision paralysis and picking an outfit in the morning becomes a time-consuming process. So many choices, so little time!

Sometimes you just need chic, simple and reliable looks you know you can always turn to when you’re in a hurry. That’s why I’ve combed through Instagram in search of nine outfits that you can easily wear on repeat this autumn. The best part is that you probably already own most of the pieces involved.

These looks are simple, sophisticated and will look just as timeless this year as they will the next. Whether you’re heading to the office, meeting friends for coffee or enjoying a weekend stroll, these outfits will have you feeling both cosy and chic, all season long.

1. Shirt + Pencil Skirt + Boots

This outfit is giving serious workwear vibes. The wrap shirt adds intrigue and is perfect for layering with a v-neck jumper if it gets chilly. Paired with the pencil skirt, this look feels sophisticated and polished. All that’s needed is a burgundy bag to tie the whole look together with its deep berry shade.

2. Turtleneck + Midi Skirt + Leather Jacket

Autumn is all about cosy textures and neutral tones and this ensemble is a perfect example. The oversized leather jacket feels sleek and polished, contrasting beautifully with the matte texture of the wool skirt and smooth suede shoes — an intriguing mix that makes the outfit feel expensive.

3. Knit Dress + Boots

Throw-on-and-go dresses aren’t just for the warmer months — this outfit is the autumn edition. Not only is the off-the-shoulder design a classic, but the knitted material will keep you cosy when the temperature drops. Pair with knee-high boots in brown suede to add a rich, earthy texture that perfectly complements the grey tone.

4. Shirt + Jeans + Long Coat

Sophisticated yet casual, this outfit is perfect for autumn weekends or casual outings. Elevate the laidback vibe of the denim with a long wool coat and add a tan shopper bag to balance the darker tones. Complete the look with pointed leather boots for a sleek and polished finish.

5. Jumper + Mini Skirt + Loafers

Colourful tights are an easy way to liven up your ensembles. Take this outfit for example: the monochromatic grey shades create a uniform look, allowing the burgundy tights to become the standout element. The rich, autumnal shade complements the neutral tones, adding a sophisticated and seasonal touch.

6. Turtleneck + Maxi Skirt + Flats

This outfit strikes the perfect balance between practicality and polished elegance, making it a go-to choice for autumn. The white turtleneck creates an ideal base for the matching blazer and suiting skirt — both of which offer a cohesive, timeless and sophisticated appeal.

7. Blazer + Leather Skirt + Loafers

Looking for an autumn ensemble that’s less cosy and more edgy? This is the one. The use of leather throughout creates a luxurious, bold vibe that still feels practical and polished. Not to mention, the tan and taupe shades bring a rich warmth to the otherwise all-black look.

8. Jumper + Satin Skirt + Boots

This outfit combines cosy elements with sleek, stylish pieces, making it the perfect everyday look. The contrast between the chunky knit of the jumper and the smooth satin skirt adds depth and visual interest, while the consistent use of black ensures a cohesive look that complements the rich brown shade.

9. Long Coat + Tailored Trousers + Boots

This outfit combines classic silhouettes, timeless colour schemes and varied textures to create a sleek, modern look. The leather coat acts as a layer of protection against the cooler autumn winds, while its edgy material and dark colour contrast with the tailored look of the tan trousers.
